Announcing The September 26th Project

September 26, 2021 Jill Escher

We are pleased to announce The September 26th Project — the annual emergency preparedness checkup for autism and special needs families.
A cooperative effort by many autism-serving organizations and led by the National Council on Severe Autism, the Project is intended to help keep our families safe in the event of emergency, and was created in honor of Feda Almaliti, past VP of NCSA, and her son Muhammed. The pair passed away on September 26, 2020 in a house fire, a tragedy that rocked the autism community. Learn more about Feda and Mu in the video above and also here.
On an annual basis, every September 26th, we ask our families to consult our website and checklists and take simple steps to help keep their families and loved ones safe.
